Vacancy: Event Manager

Brigade events are not corporate parties. They are training camps, charity fundraisers, recruitment campaigns and meetings with partners. Each one has a goal that can be counted: funds raised, people brought in, agreements signed.

The Event Manager is responsible for turning an idea into an event: concept, budget, logistics, people, partners, delivery. And for making sure that what remains after the event is a result, not just photographs.

This is a job for people who can keep twenty details in their head at once and react calmly when one of them breaks an hour before the start.

Who can become an Event Manager

No military experience is needed. What you need is professional experience — organising events in any field.

What really matters:

  • Experience organising events from concept to completion
  • Ability to negotiate. Partners, donors, contractors, venues — half the job is right here
  • Composure in a fast-moving environment. Plans change, and that is normal, not force majeure
  • Understanding of the specifics: some events are about fundraising, some about recruitment, and their goals differ
  • Medical fitness — determined by the military medical board (VLK)

On the main question: this is a military position, and everyone goes through basic training. But you are hired for a specific job in your profession.

What an Event Manager does in the 141st SMB

In addition to what is described in the requirements above:

  • Events fall into three types: training camps (for units and partners), charity events (fundraising for the brigade's needs) and recruitment events (so that people find out and come)
  • Working with partners is a separate area: find them, reach an agreement, and keep the relationship going long term, not just once
  • Working with the media team: an event that nobody tells the story of only does half its job
  • A lot depends on security details — where, when and what can be held openly

How you will be trained

The path is the same for everyone: 51 days of basic military training, then the brigade adaptation course — 14–15 days with instructors who have combat experience.

For this position, training gives you an understanding of why the events happen and what exactly to tell partners and donors. Someone who has been through the course themselves talks about the brigade differently — and it shows in negotiations.

Tactical medicine is drilled until it becomes automatic. Our instructors' principle is short: the priority is to survive.

What you will be provided with

You will be fully kitted out: gear, protective equipment and the equipment you need for the job.

You will not be on your own. The Event Manager works hand in hand with the media team and a team that helps with materials, filming and communication.

What the terms include:

  • Pay: base pay of UAH 21,000 and an additional bonus of UAH 30,000, approximately UAH 51,000–55,000 in total
  • Full provision of gear, protective equipment and military property
  • The social package provided for service members
  • Opportunity to obtain combatant status (UBD)

Where you can grow

  • Head of partnerships and fundraising
  • Moving into strategic work: not individual events, but a programme for the year
  • Professionally — experience organising events in difficult conditions and working with donors is valued in the non-profit sector and in business

In the 141st, competence and results count — not length of service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Logic and process: we answer the key questions about enlistment, training and status.

Apply for this position
01

Will I have to fight?

+

This is a military position, and everyone goes through basic training. But you are hired for a specific job in your profession.

02

What kinds of events does the brigade hold?

+

Three types: training camps, charity fundraisers and recruitment campaigns. Each has its own goal and its own measurable result.

03

Is there a team, or do I do everything myself?

+

The Event Manager works together with the media team — filming, copy and communication are handled jointly rather than falling on one person.

04

I have no military experience. Can I still join you?

+

Yes. Most of our best specialists were civilians yesterday. What matters to us is your motivation. We’ll match a role to your skills: if you understand machinery — you’ll go to the mechanics; if you know electronics — to UAVs or communications. Everything military — we’ll teach you.

05

How long does training take before deployment to the unit?

+

Every recruit completes Basic General Military Training (BGMT) at a training center. After that — additional specialized training depending on the chosen role. We send only the prepared to the line of contact — that is our core principle.

06

What happens after I fill out the form?

+

Your application goes to the recruiting center. Within 24 hours our specialist will call — it’s not an interrogation, just an introduction and answers to your questions. If we’re a match, the brigade issues an official request and our liaison helps you get through the TRC and MMB as fast as possible.

07

Can I transfer to the 141st SMB from another unit?

+

Yes, we consider transfers — including via the Army+ app. Fill out the form and select the status “Active service member” — a recruiter will advise on your real chances and the steps involved.

08

I am AWOL (SZCh). Can I join?

+

The law allows a return to service. If you’re motivated to fight in a sound team — fill out the form and state your status honestly. Our specialists will advise you individually on legal ways to return. Confidentially.

09

Do you provide uniform and equipment?

+

Yes. The brigade fully provides basic kit, body armor, helmets and weapons. Plus — thanks to a strong volunteer network, we have additional technological support: drones, EW, transport.
