Vacancy: Unmanned Systems Control Section Operator

An order that does not arrive on time is as good as an order not carried out. At the battalion command post there is a person through whom this entire flow passes — and whether the system works depends on how meticulous they are.

The Unmanned Systems Control Section Operator receives, logs and processes official information at the battalion command post, passes orders on to those responsible for carrying them out and monitors their execution.

This is an enlisted position at HQ — a way into staff work without officer requirements.

Who can become an Unmanned Systems Control Section Operator

No experience is needed. The main thing is being able to work with a computer and keep information in order.

What really matters:

  • Confident PC user
  • Ability to assess the situation soberly and respond accordingly
  • Stress resilience and the ability to work at a high pace
  • Communication skills and the ability to work in a team
  • Experience of duty shifts at operations posts is an advantage

How a section operator differs from an officer-operator: the operator receives, logs and passes on. The officer analyses, summarises and reports to command.

What an Unmanned Systems Control Section Operator does in the 141st SMB

  • Monitoring and documenting the execution of orders
  • Preparing and completing duty shift reports

How you will be trained

The path is the same for everyone: 51 days of basic military training, then the brigade adaptation course — 14–15 days with instructors who have combat experience.

Next comes training for duty shifts at the command post: logging procedures, working with the systems and keeping shift documentation.

Tactical medicine is drilled until it becomes automatic. Our instructors' principle is short: the priority is to survive.

What you will be provided with

You will be fully kitted out: gear, protective equipment, a workstation and communications equipment.

You will not be alone. The duty shift works together, alongside the section's officers, who guide and train you on the job.

What the terms include:

  • Pay: base pay of UAH 21,000 + an additional bonus of UAH 30,000 — approximately UAH 51,000 – 55,000 per month in total, depending on the position and conditions of service
  • Full provision of gear, protective equipment and military property
  • The social package provided for service members
  • Opportunity to obtain combatant status (UBD)

Where you can grow

  • Officer positions in the unmanned systems control department — given the relevant training
  • Data Collection and Processing Section Operator — the analytical track
  • Brigade staff positions
  • Related areas of unmanned systems

In the 141st, competence and results count — not length of service.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Logic and process: we answer the key questions about enlistment, training and status.

Apply for this position
01

Do I need to know how to fly drones?

+

No. This is a staff position at the command post — working with information and documentation.

02

Do I need experience of staff work?

+

No, you are trained on the job. Experience of duty shifts at operations posts is an advantage.

03

Is this an officer position?

+

No, it is an enlisted position. The officer position in the same area is officer-operator in the unmanned systems control department.

04

I have no military experience. Can I still join you?

+

Yes. Most of our best specialists were civilians yesterday. What matters to us is your motivation. We’ll match a role to your skills: if you understand machinery — you’ll go to the mechanics; if you know electronics — to UAVs or communications. Everything military — we’ll teach you.

05

How long does training take before deployment to the unit?

+

Every recruit completes Basic General Military Training (BGMT) at a training center. After that — additional specialized training depending on the chosen role. We send only the prepared to the line of contact — that is our core principle.

06

What happens after I fill out the form?

+

Your application goes to the recruiting center. Within 24 hours our specialist will call — it’s not an interrogation, just an introduction and answers to your questions. If we’re a match, the brigade issues an official request and our liaison helps you get through the TRC and MMB as fast as possible.

07

Can I transfer to the 141st SMB from another unit?

+

Yes, we consider transfers — including via the Army+ app. Fill out the form and select the status “Active service member” — a recruiter will advise on your real chances and the steps involved.

08

I am AWOL (SZCh). Can I join?

+

The law allows a return to service. If you’re motivated to fight in a sound team — fill out the form and state your status honestly. Our specialists will advise you individually on legal ways to return. Confidentially.

09

Do you provide uniform and equipment?

+

Yes. The brigade fully provides basic kit, body armor, helmets and weapons. Plus — thanks to a strong volunteer network, we have additional technological support: drones, EW, transport.
