Vacancy: Deputy Company Commander for MPS

The company is the level where everyone knows the commander by sight and where every person is visible. It is here that a problem can be spotted before it becomes irreversible.

The Deputy Company Commander for MPS is responsible for morale, psychological well-being and discipline in the company: runs training sessions and consultations, provides psychological first aid and follow-up support.

This is a position for someone who can both work with people directly and keep order.

Who can become a Deputy Company Commander for MPS

Higher education in psychology or related fields is required.

What really matters:

  • Higher education in psychology or related fields
  • Strong communication skills, empathy and emotional resilience
  • Ability to handle stressful situations, provide psychological first aid and give follow-up support
  • PC skills and experience of working with documentation
  • Ability to organise training sessions and seminars
  • Fitness for service in terms of health and moral qualities

How a deputy company commander differs from a officer psychologist: the former is a commander responsible for the state and discipline of the company. The latter is a specialist who does individual psychological work.

What a Deputy Company Commander for MPS does in the 141st SMB

In addition to what is described in the requirements above:

  • Analysis and monitoring of the morale and psychological state of the company's personnel
  • Analysis and monitoring of discipline, and measures to strengthen it
  • Running psychological training sessions, seminars and consultations
  • Planning measures to improve service members' morale
  • Liaison with battalion and brigade units
  • Keeping documentation and reports

How you will be trained

The path is the same for everyone: 51 days of basic military training, then the brigade adaptation course — 14–15 days with instructors who have combat experience.

Then comes training in morale and psychological support at company level: working with personnel, disciplinary practice, reporting.

Tactical medicine is drilled until it becomes automatic. Our instructors' principle is short: the priority is to survive.

What you will be provided with

You will be fully kitted out: gear, protective equipment, a workstation and communications equipment.

You will not be on your own. The deputy company commander works hand in hand with the company commander, the deputy battalion commander for MPS and the brigade's psychological support team.

What the terms include:

  • Pay: base pay from UAH 25,000 + an additional bonus of UAH 30,000 — approximately UAH 55,000 per month in total, depending on the position and conditions of service
  • Full provision of gear, protective equipment and military property
  • The social package provided for service members
  • Opportunity to obtain combatant status (UBD)

Where you can grow

  • Deputy Battalion Commander for MPS — the next level
  • Officer psychologist, with the relevant specialist training
  • Leadership positions in the MPS function
  • Command positions, with the relevant experience

In the 141st, competence and results count — not length of service.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Logic and process: we answer the key questions about enlistment, training and status.

Apply for this position
01

Is a degree in psychology mandatory?

+

Higher education in psychology or related fields is required.

02

Is discipline part of the duties?

+

Yes. At company level, psychological work is combined with analysing and monitoring discipline and taking measures to strengthen it.

03

Is this a psychologist's position or a commander's?

+

A command position: the deputy company commander is responsible for the state of the unit and does not hold individual sessions like a specialist.

04

I have no military experience. Can I still join you?

+

Yes. Most of our best specialists were civilians yesterday. What matters to us is your motivation. We’ll match a role to your skills: if you understand machinery — you’ll go to the mechanics; if you know electronics — to UAVs or communications. Everything military — we’ll teach you.

05

How long does training take before deployment to the unit?

+

Every recruit completes Basic General Military Training (BGMT) at a training center. After that — additional specialized training depending on the chosen role. We send only the prepared to the line of contact — that is our core principle.

06

What happens after I fill out the form?

+

Your application goes to the recruiting center. Within 24 hours our specialist will call — it’s not an interrogation, just an introduction and answers to your questions. If we’re a match, the brigade issues an official request and our liaison helps you get through the TRC and MMB as fast as possible.

07

Can I transfer to the 141st SMB from another unit?

+

Yes, we consider transfers — including via the Army+ app. Fill out the form and select the status “Active service member” — a recruiter will advise on your real chances and the steps involved.

08

I am AWOL (SZCh). Can I join?

+

The law allows a return to service. If you’re motivated to fight in a sound team — fill out the form and state your status honestly. Our specialists will advise you individually on legal ways to return. Confidentially.

09

Do you provide uniform and equipment?

+

Yes. The brigade fully provides basic kit, body armor, helmets and weapons. Plus — thanks to a strong volunteer network, we have additional technological support: drones, EW, transport.
